I tend to be shy and nervous,I don't like reading aloud in front of large groups not even during sunday school class. I've learned to enjoy playing a song on the piano for an audience.My first public performance was Nov.3rd 2007 and the song I played at the Clavinova Festival in Springfield IL was Greensleeves,this year at the 2008 Clavinova Fest I played Scherzo. I've learned that even though I still get nervous about playing any songs at church I like doing it because it makes alot of other people happy and I feel good afterwards because I did something outside my comfort zone and didn't mess up while I was playing. I'm a level 2 piano student as of this spring. Still loving every minute of the time I spend practicing what I'm learning on the piano even when something is really hard at first I know that with practice it'll get easier because the only way to learn something is to practice it no matter how hard it may seem at first.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Guilt trips aren't bad when they're for the right reason though. Fear is a real consideration especially if you've had bad luck or don't have much faith/hope in the prognosis. Chemicals are often not too forgiving.
You do have a way with words maybe you could you convince him to go "Just because you love him?" No other reason.
I hope your hand is feeling better and the carrots are sweet. I haven't had my own garden in quite a few years and this is the first year I'm not helping anyone with their farms so I am missing out on my favorite time of year.
